Flashback: Jacoby Was the Heart of "The Hogs"

Flashback: Jacoby Was the Heart of

Without Joe Jacoby, the "Hogs" wouldn't be the legendary offensive line that they are today.  The 6-7, 300-pounder, a charter member of the "Hogs," stands as one of the top offensive linemen in Redskins history.  He played every position but center during his 13-year career (1981-93) in Washington, but left tackle is where he made the greatest impact.  He was the premier NFL player at that position during the 1980s, earning four straight trips to the Pro Bowl (1983-86).  He played in 170 games, one of the top marks in team history, and started 146.  He also helped open the hole that John Riggins ran through en route to his 43-yard touchdown run in Super Bowl XVII, the most famous play in Redskins history.  "Jake" has been nominated for the entry into the Pro Football Hall of Fame several times.
